How many so-called "families" are in the middle of the fake life? It makes you wonder, because of the continuous search for the better home, the nicest car and only the best clothes. Do you sacrifice who you really are in the midst of that search??

I think we go through stages in life where it's expected to have "things" in order to feel successful, to finally understanding the truly vital areas that bring you joy and peace. Why can we have that wisdom when we are younger??alicenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685350.post-57023474618345105412009-08-13T13:45:06.360-07:002009-08-13T13:45:06.360-07:00Cheer up Wat, at least you have taste, and that co...Cheer up Wat, at least you have taste, and that counts.
Got to love Annette Benning...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685350.post-48535821938838629302009-08-11T21:58:10.514-07:002009-08-11T21:58:10.514-07:00That movie was both disturbing and genius at the s...That movie was both disturbing and genius at the same time. And then the comment by Conclave 27 adds to the emotional conflicts churning right below the surface of your writing.

The middle class dream of the 9 to 5 with freedom to do fun and interesting things on the weekend is dead. You see this, yet you don't see the way out. This is the way we were brought up and our parents instilled the idea of life in suburbia with the wife and kids as the solution to life. But it doesn't work. It especially doesn't work for most gay guys. There has to be more to life but society is enslaved in the capitalist dream and our elected officials fight to keep the snares in place while they live life on the edge.

This is all rather light and simplified, but it sets up the problem I think you're having. Is there a solution to this problem? Probably. I'm finding it in art and artists and exploring my person through art. It's a challenge and most of the time I hit dead ends, but slowly I'm finding a path. I've been very inspired recently by the writings and art of David Wojnarowicz who I suggest you research a bit. His plight is not mine, but his anger and passion stir something inside of me. I'm finding that life is all about revolution, as Conclave 27 states, but not a large scale, overthrow the powers that be kind of thing. It's a personal revolution like what Kevin Spacey goes through in the movie.

Oops, sorry this is such a long comment. Maybe I'm making up for lost words on the comments I was going to make on previous posts but forgot to.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685350.post-28172430539840140162009-08-11T05:13:32.266-07:002009-08-11T05:13:32.266-07:00Oh mi amigo hermoso - I don't have a job, no B...Oh mi amigo hermoso - I don't have a job, no BF, no life, no softball - I could go on - but it is, what it is. And yes, I have myself a good cry every now and again, which is a good emotional release, plus crying doesn't make your dick raw from rubbing out yet another one to relieve the tension of everyday life!

When I want to see a "film" I'll go to the art cinema and watch something from Britain or Iran or some other foreign film or an off-beat American made independent production.

If I want to see a mindless, pure entertainment, I'll go see G.I. Joe, or some other American made special effects laden, non-acting ability, "movie". Each has it's place.

Remember "300"? The only people that went to see that movie were testosterone pumped 24 y/o gym rats and testosterone pumped gym rat gay men (for different reasons of course) And yes, I watched it, in the privacy of my own home with Eros lube and a bottle of poppers. LOL

So enjoy the freedom to go see and watch what you want! To each his own!RGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12264363264956622352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685350.post-56604668584566432872009-08-11T01:36:18.671-07:002009-08-11T01:36:18.671-07:00Well there is a backlash against the established r...Well there is a backlash against the established reviewers. They are way out of touch with the common people.... these "high and mighty paragons of films" .... cough "posers" know absolutely shit about film. Yeah you can know all bout the technical merits of a film, but who can you judge what make a good story? That is based on personal taste and preference. Almost 90% of the time these critics uphold obscure independent crap know one sees as best movie ever. "Oh the movie about the 'Gyspsy rose of Camille' was breath taking with such poise and feel"... wtf... only like 12 people
saw it and a move like "Batman: The Dark Knight" is given a "ehhh it's a dark kids movie". Fuck the critics! They are not luminaries, but snuffers who limit your freedom of choice with their allegedly assured opinion. Viva La Revolucion!!!Conclave27https://www.blogger.com/profile/13892666053832920927noreply@blogger.com
