THE IMMORTAL BLANCHE DEVEREAUX.

Another "Golden Girl" is dead! UGH! Thank you Rue for the laughs and your amazing animal rights activism!

Perhaps and quite possibly, the greatest scene in Golden Girls history! The comedic timing/acting is superb. TO RUE:

I think my favorite episode is when Blanche meets Rose's new beau, who happens to be a Little Person. And she's totally nervous about saying the wrong thing. So, after a talk with Dorothy in the kitchen, she grabs a plate of hors de ordervs, walks out of the kitchen, offers the tray to Rose's guest and says, "Shrimp?" looses it, makes an about face, hands the tray to Dorothy, and walks back into the kitchen! Bwaaaaa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha It's the way she says the word shrimp, very southern like: "Sherrrrrr-re-imp?" hahahahahahaha

RIP Rue. You could always make me laugh.

I remember that episode - it was hilarious and touching at the same time. They always managed to do that. The Golden Girls could crack me up left and right - and throw in something so profound I would be in tears.

It's so sad that Rue is gone now. Betty is the last one standing, and I wonder if that is scary for her. RIP Rue....

here, maybe this'll cheer you up--not only is it oddly appropriate, but this pre-blanche devereaux episode of "maude" is my favorite memory of these two golden girls:

naturally, the break between parts 2 & 3 comes at the worst possible moment, but even so, if the funeral scene doesn't have you on the floor, it's time for a serious intervention.

There are so many episode of GG I could name. Plus 'member she worked indirectly with Betty White in Mama's Family and Bea in Maude....lol

Funniest thing is I remember he small part as Mrs. Gale, the Mother-in-Law to Frank L. Baum in a TV documentary called "The Dreamer of Oz". Ironically some years before she played in "The Wicked Witch", a TV special for children.
She was a very versatile actress.

Like Bea and Estelle... thank you for being a friend Rue....

Golden Girls dying! Now I feel old ...

...wish they'd put it on one of the meagre selection of TV channels I have access to...

Only comedy I get to watch that I actually like is Frasier, Everybody Loves Raymond and Friends repeats.

And Will and Grace. Which I don't like as much. Except for squeaky-voiced alko-freak woman
