"THE PEOPLE UNITED SHALL NEVER BE DIVIDED."

Well, in case you missed it, this country is sorely and bitterly divided over the illegal immigration issue once again. What fun! WOOHOO! Damn that Mario López looks good though! LOL!

An ironically great and horrible time to be Hispanic/Latino in America as you can read:

--SPRING, Texas--Two white teenagers severely beat and sodomized a 16-year-old Hispanic boy who they believed had tried to kiss a 12-year-old white girl at a party, authorities said.

--MIAMI--British music producer Adam Kidron says that when he came up with the idea of a Spanish-language version of the U.S. national anthem, he saw it as an ode to the millions of immigrants seeking a better life. But in the week since Kidron announced the song _ which features artists such as Wyclef Jean, hip-hop star Pitbull and Puerto Rican singers Carlos Ponce and Olga Tañón _ it has been the target of a fierce backlash.

--A leading Jewish civil rights organization is warning that white supremacists are using the heated public debate over immigration reform to target Hispanic immigrants and to foment anti-Latino violence.

--Hollywood Stars including Edward James Olmos and Salma Hayek, have joined ranks with a boycott planned for May 1 to protest the proposed tightening of US immigration laws.
Activists have called for immigrants and their supporters to abstain from work, studies or purchases Monday, following on massive demonstrations they staged around the United States in the past month.

--LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pro-immigration activists say a national boycott and marches planned for May 1 will flood U.S. streets with millions of Latinos to demand amnesty for illegal immigrants and shake the ground under Congress as it debates reform.

Geez man! Is there going to be a Cinco de Mayo this year?

Or is everyone just gonna kill each other?

Actually lets forget the wetbacks for a second and worry about real issues.... like Gas!!!!

OMG Gas is reach up to $4... were already at $3.29 for the cheapest grade and the higher grades cost like $3.50. Back east... some stations have run out of gas.

As far as the "Latin Immigrants Problem".... GO HOME PACO!!!! A massive boycott is no way to getting rights, especially when your country (Mexico) is starting to support your stay in the US. Seems the real Mexicans in Mexico will be joining in the boycott as well on May 1st. WTF???? The world has gone to madness.

It saddens me to say this, especially since I am surround by latinos... but... I feel trouble brewing. Good thing I can hide with my asian friends.

Illegal immigrants deserve no rights. They are felons and should be treated accordingly. One of the supposed "rules" in this country is equality. If you allow illegals to continue to operate in this country, you just made things unequal.

I say round them up and ship them out. Seize theur assests and fine companies and orginzations that habor these criminals. Religious orginizations can be fined unbelievale amounts of money for harboring these criminals. Which reminds me... the Catholic Church is using this opportunity to re-establish itself with the Latin community after its numerous molestaion scandles!!!

BTW....

Before this was California, I realize this was once Mexican Territory, and before this the Russians and the Spainards had their claims as well. Yet you know what..... this land was stolen from the Native American Indians!

You don't see them rioting and boycotting. Despite the horrendous atrocities done to them, they have worked within the system and have managed to regain some tribal sovereignty.

I only have two things to say...

1) You wonder if there will be a Cinco de Mayo? Of course there will. God forbid anyone take time out from partying to stand up for something they supposedly believe in. I think a better statement would have been made marching ON May 5th. Right?

2) I only hope this doesn't turn into a three ring circus a la Rodney King. Angry people gathered in giant groups, regardless of nationality, have a tendency to act like animals. I only hope everyone gets through the day safely.

LOVE YA WIL!!!!

The funny thing about all of this is that to politicians none of this really makes a difference. None of the people involved vote thus they have no say over a politician's career.

Moving on from the subject on illegal immigration, since in reality, is it affecting any of us in any way, form or fashion? We make no money, we pay nil in taxes (that 12 % bracket you are in buddy is worth zippo to the country). Unless of course you are fighting with these hardworking souls over the right and privilege to pick oranges up in Oxnard then by all means bitch and moan.

Focus on infrastructure, focus on our huge national debt, focus on all the pork that laddens our bills in congress, do not be mislead by these tactics. We are shifting blame to someone else over our shoddy conditions. The country is going to hell in a hand basket but not because of immigrants, it's going to hell because of idiots like us. The voters and the people we put in office.

But heck we only give a damn about gas anyways since who are we to care about anything else than going to the mall and charging stuff onto our credit cards.

We are Americans, we are filth. We deserve this....

Now go out there and spend your money and make someone else rich but in the process blame an immigrant for your problems it seems that's they way we handle problems here, maybe once we get rid of our immigrants we can blame the jews again!

Good idea PACO!
