JOHN'S SPAWN.

John Lennon fathered two boys.

With his first wife Cynthia, we got Julian Lennon, who achieved moderate success in the 80s, but never really took off like many hoped he would. Actually, Julian is quite
talented to be honest. He's a pretty good songwriter in my opinion and sounds very much like his genius father. Why he didn't become a huge superstar is puzzling. I mean, Judy Garland was big and Liza Minelli did just fine following in her mother's footsteps didn't she? I really think Julian could've become very very popular. He seemed to be doing well in 1984, and then just kinda did not take off.

Then there's
Sean Lennon. Oh dear. What can I say? Sean seems like a sweet dude. He really does. It must not have been, and prolly still is not easy to be Yoko Ono's son. Lets face it, Yoko is not very well-liked, though my opinion on tha hag is softening a bit I suppose as the years go on by. Sean is quite dull musically though. I just can't seem to find the coolness in his songwriting like I do in Julian's. I just shake my head and wonder really. Howard Stern once said, "Poor Sean. Must be rough to inherit all of your father's money and none of his talent." OUCH!

Sadly, I think Howard was right.

You're right about Julian. I recently saw a John Lennon action figure at a store the other day. I thought that was bizarre. Why would anyone want a Lennon action figure?

I think Julian's albums came too close after John's death for folks to take them on their own merit. I get tired of all the Yoko bashing, though. The fact that she is so unapoletically weird is what I love about her, though I'll admit I don't sit around listening to her music hours on end. However, I would take her singing any day over Linda McCartney's. I am sure Linda was a lovely person, but I think she sang on pitch maybe two times in her life.

I have to agree with you about Julian vs. Sean. Listening to Julian's voice, and certain inflections gave me the chills - it was like hearing John again. I also think he resembles his Dad a little more than Sean.

I think you know how I feel about Yoko. Despite the influence she had on the Beatles, I have never been drawn to her personality. Perhaps there is an audience for her particular brand of artistry - but I've always been of the opinion that she is merely a legend in her own shower......

Whatever they do, must be hard to live to the legacy of Lennon... I don't know any of them musically speaking though.

Sean is definitely the cuter one of the two. While I'm sure both offer truckloads of talent (like their dad), I'm feeling a bit superficial today. Fuck it...

Poor Sean. I could not imagine the sitcom that is his life.

Apparently, there is a 3rd Lennon child, an illegitimate daughter, born to a German woman who Lennon had an ongoing fling with, in Hamburg.
