MADONNA JOINS THE BEATLES!

Can the Gods be so cruel?! A new stye to contend with, this time in my opposite eye! ARGH! Very upsetting! This one was nicer than the last one in that I was able to lance it and drain it myself because it was within easier reach. It's been a painful two days though, and it has messed up my poor left eye regardless. I guess I am now more prone to these than ever before in my life and very hygienic steps will have to be taken in order to prevent these from ever happening to me again; antibiotic ointment nightly for each eye will be a must, among other measures to be taken.

So much awful backlash against Madonna for having been inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Monday night! I am actually shocked and a bit puzzled as to why so many were opposed and pissed about Madge getting the honor; she did start off in a small rock band in case you didn't know! Hundreds upon hundreds of nasty comments on the Net about her not being deserving, that she's not talented, that she's an empty pop star, etc. Say what you will about the whore she once was/portrayed, there is true substance to this woman's music and she has always been a consistently enjoyable entertainer! These people are just terribly jealous I feel and grossly unfair! Madonna revolutionized the music business and I dare anyone to not acknowledge the many hit singles she's had and admit to not liking quite a few of them as being pretty damn good. I hated the fact "Hawk Nose" Timberlake was the one presenting her with the award though; quite boring if you ask me, but whatever. You can diss all the other Madonna wannabes if you like, but not the actual M herself. She has put out great material, NO QUESTION. SO THERE! And I'm not some crazy obsessed-with-Madonna gay dude either saying this; I really mean it as objectively as possible, because I do tend to have issues with her at times, but not enough to cloud my judgment on her remarkable body of work or value as a terrific performer.

American Idol this week was pretty cool. The final 12 all had to sing Beatles songs! WOOHOO! They've done this before in past seasons I believe, but it's always nice to give the Liverpudlians the music recognition they highly deserve! Those two Latino David dudes, Hernández and Archuleta are quite nice-looking in their own way, even though this week they performed kind of badly. The Beatles are obviously in the Rock Hall of Fame, I wonder if future American Idol contestants will ever get the chance to sing Madonna songs, or have they already? Can ya hear the jealous opposition now?! Congrats also, to most deserving inductees John Mellencamp and the Dave Clark Five!

Madonna's full induction ceremony (hopefully it won't be yanked off YouTube):

i agree in that i find most madonna bashers are just terribly jealous. I've always loved madonna for what she contributed to women in 'the industry' .... if she was male she'd be lauded for her breadth of work and ability to go off in new directions, but golly gee the fact that the p system prevails she's just seen as a tramp and manipulator. for this mouse madonna is one talented human!

oh me oh my dear wat with the eye afflictions..... sweet healing thoughts your way! we must uncover the deep root to this problem.

I think the root of the Madonna contraversy is that it is "The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame". On a technical note many artists shouldn't even be in there since it is "Rock n' Roll".
She is after all a Popstar (and old enough to be in a museum..lol)and "Pop" has no place in "Rock n' Roll". What they should do is rename the museum so that it reflects a much broader range.
In know it is a question of symantecs for me.
I love Maddonna personally, in my humble opinion she should have her own "Hall of Fame". Plus if this much people hate her, she has done her job. Kinda like the cough... ack... cough.. self dubbed "King of All Media". These people are movers and shakers. Legends in their own mind... err time.

Sorry about the other eye. Maybe it isn't really a stye. It could be alien parasites invading. (I think I saw that in a movie once.)
Whatever someone thinks about Madonna, you've got to admit that everyone knows her, can name at least one of her songs, and probably can sing a verse or two from that song. That's a monumental achievement for any artist. And since she's matured and looking so damn fine, I'm liking her more.

I think that Hernandez was capable of much more than he gave us during his stint on Idol. Definitely good looking and a great voice. But didn't know quite what to do with it or how to get there. Now, I can see two of the chicks that need to go bye-bye next.

Dennis agrees with Kimy. Dennis loves Kimy.

Dennis is not a music snob-- GO MADONNA!

Dennis thinks superstars get tagged as "Manipulative"
Dennis is Assertive, and is often tagged as a manipulator. Dennis is seriously a love-bug.

I think Madonna's speech was brilliant, especially loved her giving credit to her nay-sayers. How brilliant.

And while I don't dislike Timberlake in general, I did think his introduction was beneath her. Good fucking lord...how incredibly lame!

oh yeah...sorry about that damn eye ailment. Don't go blind on me.

I used to get styes after going to dusty fleamarkets-- rubbing the eye without thinking about it... I finally connected it--Fleamarket= stye!

the trick to avoid styes--wash hands a lot when in dusty old places and use Stye -an ointment --to keep the eyes lubricated often--dry eyes are prone to painful maladies.

Love Madonna! She rocks!

I just watched Truth or Dare again on Fuse last night and couldn't help but remark on how Madonna has grown-up since then (of course that was 1991 and I should hope she would - but still). I have always loved Madonna. Not only for her fantastic, feel good music but also for her work ethic and her acceptance of folks outside the main stream. She has given a voice to those who might be silenced and challenged our perceptions. Good for her.

I hope by the time you read this the eye issue would have improved greatly. Sending you good thoughts.

im not a big madonna fan by any means but she does deserve to be in the rrhof if purely based on her ability to stay relevant for so long

Well said WAT, I am a huge fan of her yes, even if I wasnt she desreves the honor. She has made her mark on the music world and worked very hard to get it. Anytime Madge has accepted an award she always acts like that, like she doesn know what to say or how to act, its her nature. I think its great.
