BLOGGER KEEPS CRASHING MY PRECIOUS BLOG!

From the classic (and amazingly still relevant) 1976 movie NETWORK, this is how I fuckin' feel:

Howard Beale (speaking for WAT and his failing blog): [shouting] You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, [shouting] 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and BLOGGER and the inflation and the fuckin' war in IRAQ and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: [screaming at the top of his lungs] "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Listen to my frustration: http://www.meglet.net/Wavs/Misc/mad-hell.wav

And add to that: "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!"

Thank you.

Great post, Wil. I really feel like there's an underground thing going on right now...A rebeliion in you will. IT's a subtle thing, I think, but i've noticed more of a 60s vibe happening, people are wearing their hair longer, music is getting more politcal again, and people are unhappy. It's all over the blog world. The left is really pissed off, and the right is beginning to question things. It's like there's a dam at the river's edge, and you can slowly see the water leaking through the cracks.

Didn't our friend John say it best: "You say you want a revolution?"

Gman, your comment above has cleared my mind and made me see the light about my own inner subtle and growing revolution. And even with the American public, there is (as you have stated) a very palpable feeling of disgust with the whole thing, as if we are getting just plain sick and tired of all the bologna the government has been and continues to feed us. I feel betrayed by President Bush (not because I ever voted for him), but because I supported him and was ready to stand by him regardless of party affiliation, but as an American. I really thought he could stop terrorism, and perhaps improve our lives like Clinton tried. But his religious blindness, his intolerance, his unabashed warmongering nature has put me off completely. And that hurts me. I never thought I’d end up disliking this man as much as I now do. I believed (stupidly I can now see) that Iraq would be easy and a good idea. Well, three years later, look at the mess. Look at all our dead boys, all the religious anti-gay/abortion creeps, the Supreme Court, the censorship (Janet Jackson/Howard Stern), our gas prices, inflation and stagnant salaries. Shit, this film NETWORK needs to be seen again and examined, not just for exposing television’s downfall into reality show crap, but for its intense political messages as well. If you’ve never seen it, please do. And even if you have, do so again, for there’s a new special edition DVD just released. what a plug! LOL!

Onward my friend. God bless our great country and may it be saved from its current sad state. We must fight to take her back again! FREEDOM! FOREVER!

You bet, “I’M AS MAD AS HELL AND I’M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!”

We must have similar brains. Last month I need a quote to go with a picture on my blog, so I thought about NETWORK and found this great quote. It is from the board meeting where the head boss is talking to Howard:

Network is one of my favorite movies. Howard's line is the most famous quote of the movie. I agree the American public needs to get off there ass. Great post dude.
