COLDPLAY DELIVERS, AND MY GRACIASGIVING.

Well! What a difference a few months later, a better venue, and seating make! My COLDPLAY concert experience back in July at the Forum was horrible! Tuesday night's concert in Anaheim at the Honda Center was soooo much better; a receptive lively audience was present. I enjoyed the concert very much this time! And my seats were pretty cool, upper level balcony just above the stage to the side! I lurved it man! The sound system was impressive, and COLDPLAY played even better this time; having all summer to tour and practice has gotten them to sound quite good by now. When we left, it was pouring! It never rains in L.A. but we had a nice rainstorm Tuesday night, so it was a nice fitting end to an awesome sold-out show. The amount of hot good-looking mostly young white men there (mostly straight of course) with their girlfriends was jaw-dropping. I got some pics to share with ya, and though not that clear I still got some cool shots nonetheless:

Tons of people recorded the show apparently, and dozens of clips it seems are already up on YouTube:

Hey, had a nice Graciasgiving dinner yesterday, but am glad it's over, because I'm not a big fan of the holiday anyway. Some pics of our very small gathering with mi familia; my mom, my brother Carlos, my growing niece Adriana, and yours truly:

Milk has gotten rave reviews! Way ta go cast and crew!

Happy weekend to ya!

BUT WHO FORGIVES THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

Get a load of this:

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – The Vatican's newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a "boast" by a young man grappling with sudden fame.

We want to thank the Church for their kindness; I'm sure his soul will now be taken out of the HELL it's been in the last two decades or so he's been dead!

Are these heathens even for real?! What?! Who needs/wants THEIR forgiveness anyway right? This is the institution that sanctioned the conquest and rape of the New World; millions of Native Americans died horrible deaths at the hands of the Spaniards and Portuguese whose greed for gold and other resources decimated the native peoples, ruined cultures forever, and destroyed their rightful "ownership" of this land. The Catholic Church was behind it all of course. For shame! And ya can't forget the Spanish Inquisition! Yes, anyone in Spain or its colonies that was Jewish or Muslim and had not converted to the "right way" was tried and sentenced to a host of horrible torture methods and death! Mel Brooks wrote the best muscial number ever however on this very subject. LOLOL!

I'm not even going to get started on the priests and the history of child abuse and other sexual naughtiness! I AM SO GRATEFUL I wasn't raised Catholic! No disrespect if you were, but! My mother had the good sense to get sick of the nonsense a while before I was born! I was however, raised somewhat Pentecostal, which is also one big giant kooky organization that's sending me to hell nonetheless. HA!

Speaking of kooky full-of-crap religions/churches, my good friend sent me this bit:

The only Mormon musician we know that wears Guyliner.

Damn this boycott’s getting hard, Brandon Flowers the endlessly talented lead singer for The Killers is a Mormon who has publically stated he’s against us gays having our civil right to marriage so we WILL NOT endorse their new album Day & Age.

Brandon plays both sides of the fence, and was even written up in November’s Advocate Magazine (which cowardly skirted around his religion), yet he’s hush hush about the fact he doesn’t support gay marriage and also sides with his church on all matters of “morals.”

So he can take drugs, and drink coke on occasion, but we’re going to hell?

Alex has loved The Killers for years but if they don’t love their fans back, why bother? We can live without The Killers.

That’s his religious right of freedom, but some say you can download the entire thing online and not put one penny into his pocket.

Somehow I'm hoping this story is wrong, because I really like THE KILLERS and the lead singer Brandon, crazy Mormon or not!

I didn't enjoy COLDPLAY earlier this year due to my seats and the shitty venue, so I'm going to check them out again tomorrow! Wish me better luck this time!

I'LL HAVE THE PUMPKIN PIE PLEASE.

You're all so lovely to come by, read, and comment as u have been doing. It makes mee heart smile. I however, am behind on everyone's blogs! FOR SHAME! I promise to catch up this weekend on all yer little posts and stuff, in between looking through my piles of junk mail, bills, and other atrocities delivered by the post office.

Ya know, I should be asleep at this ungodly hour, but alas I felt the need to blog about something. BLOG ABOUT WHAT WAT?! Oh, I dunno. I should keep it short since it is a Saturday, and it is rare for me to even blog on the Sabbath! There's several big news stories right now but I can't get into it all: the sewer economy, modern-day pirates taking over ships, and some kid shooting his da
d, etc. Most of it is sickeningly depressing, and like the hot-as-hell young Armenian stud at work told me yesterday, "Gotta enjoy life no matter what, and just be aware that it's going to be bad." Enjoy the puppies, the kitties, the sunny days, the flowers, the birds, the bees, yer friends, your loved ones, good food, good music, hot orgasmic sex, and any other little things that make life tolerable and wonderful, because the future is sadly tainted by forces that none of us can really control. We pray for you Obamee, to do a good job after the retard finally leaves, and although I wasn't goo goo ga ga over you or voted for your lanky ass, I still find u adorable somehow, like in this pic of you visiting a deli sometime yesterday I believe:

Yeah. He is a cutie, even though his long boring ass speeches put me to sleep. LOL! Will BILLARY take up the office of Secretary of State? It's all too interesting and happening so fast...

Sir Paul McCartney says he wants to release a long lost epic Beatles track for the world to listen to and enjoy. Okay, so bring it! He's also due to release a new album, which is said to have some of his finest songwriting yet. McCartney may be old and not as relevant as he once was, but I tells ya something, the man can still write some damn fine songs. No kidding. I BLOODY mean it!

To be a genius, to be so wealthy; listen if ya like:

NOT JUST HOME TO THE GOLDEN GATE.

I super loaded this post with links! I apologize:

I feel shitty. I gots a cold, and I blame those fires this past weekend. Our economy continues to sink even further, if that's even possible!? Our auto makers are pretty much done for! Can you believe it?! Questions remain about where Obama was actually born?! UH OH!

My fellow blogger Junk Thief will be pleased to know that my mind is very much on San Francisco as of late; that beautiful city by the bay. And that mayor! THEIR MAYOR! MY GOD! What a stud! Gavin Newsom! YEEHA! L.A. has a pretty nice looking mayor too, but not as handsome as Gavin up north! He's straight right?! Fully hetero? I wonder about that, but I'll take the rumors of his perverse heterosexuality and believe them I guess. It'd be nice if Gavin could go beyond the S.F. confines and run for governor of our state or something, but he recently upset a lot of people for being against PROP 8. He's seen as too liberal and many conservatives hate San Francisco for this reason, but those religious nuts are a dying breed anyway. Good riddance! I hope Gavin goes far in his political career, because he is so damn good looking! LOL! I'm superficial, I know.

Another S.F. politician on mee mind as well is the late Harvey M
ilk! I found the old documentary of his incredible life on YouTube which I still have to make time to watch, but the buzz on this gay martyr icon should be growing quite a bit in the next few weeks, thanks to the upcoming Gus Van Sant movie Milk starring the amazing Sean Penn as the legendary Harvey. Oh yeah baby! This film's got a super talented cast indeed! I can't wait! Yeah, these incredible events all happened in my very naive infancy, and ended tragically (as many of you know) with that envious homophobic sicko Dan White shooting Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Milk in cold blood.

That's all for now. This terrific band Of Montreal is playing the Hollywood Palladium this Saturday, but I have no one to go with! And they're so good too:

IT WAS ALWAYS BURNING SINCE THE WORLD'S BEEN TURNING...

It seems that every year now we're hit with these annoying fires in the hills surrounding L.A. and all around Southern California, and the ones this weekend really messed up the air quality. That gross sweet acrid smell is still in the air, and my eyes are watery, burning, and I got nasal issues. UGH! Lots of people feel shitty today, and it's worse for those who lost homes! That dry hot windy air spells nothing but trouble, and as more and more people live near all this brush, the worse these destructive fires get; we hardly get any real rain anyway!

I didn't go protest on Saturday, but the good news is my mother may be softening her opposition to gay marriage. Mind you, her old-f
ashioned religious Hispanicosity might rear its ugly head at any moment, but she seemed to be more compassionate over the weekend; a news story about some young Ecuadorian immigrant who was tragically murdered just because he was Latino and gay really upset her. She seemed to really mull over and consider what my brother's roomie said about hospital visits and how gay marriage would help make that much easier for a couple, if one of the partners was in there dying. And then she totally agreed with me when I said that we had bigger problems in this world/on this planet to worry about than people's personal lives. With these fires, other natural disasters, our economy in shambles, global warming, and humankind's continuing stupidity, we sure as hell got our hands full of REAL issues to be preoccupied about. She seemed to agree as we both bit into our hamburgers Saturday evening. LOL! She probably felt bad too that last Thursday whilst at my brother's place, I pointed at her and loudly declared, "That woman over there hates gay people", as she washed the dishes! AHAHAHAH! She immediately got defensive and said, "No, I dun't!" in true Ricky Ricardo fashion.

Congrats to comedian Wanda Sykes! It takes g
uts sista, but good for you!

I like this cartoon. It made me chuckle:

WAT RECEIVES FAN MAIL.

My co-worker brought me a handmade/drawn thank you card today from her 15 year-old daughter! Here's the cover:Inside the card, she writes:

Dear Will,

Thank you so much for introducing the Beatles to my sister and I. I really enjoyed watching the Anthology videos and especially the films such as Help! and A Hard Day's Night. Now I simply love The Beatles and mention them at least once every day. I've become a Beatleholic.

The Beatles have changed my life and influenced me positively. I was kind of sad when we finished the last Anthology film. I didn't want there to be an end.

When I get a job, whatever it may be, I'll be sure to decorate my working area with pictures and posters of The Beatles, just as you have done.

Thank you so much for spreading and sharing the love of The Beatles with Alice and I.

love,
Iris

Here's the actual inside of the card. You can click on the pic to make the text larger if you like:

Isn't that the nicest sweetest thing? Man, that made my day! The Beatles have changed lives, and my admiration for them has influenced the new generations! I'm a true Beatles ambassador!

BRANDON CAN YOU HEAR ME?

Ya see Brandon up there in the upper left hand corner of this blog? Ain't my boy handsome? WHAT?! You don't know who Brandon is? Come here. I SAID COME HERE! WHY YOU LITTLE @(#&!($&!($! Thanks to la luna negra for sending me some of his latest pics. He's such a hottie.

I had a very nice long weekend, ending with Veteran's Day yesterday. Didn't really go anywhere. Didn't do anything that special. I got stoned a couple of times. All in moderation of course, but still. Yeah, I should go get a license so I can do the stuff legally, but I gotta shell out about $125! Aren't there bigger problems in th
is world than arresting people for minor possession of marijuana?! I sang this amazingly long song/medley for karaoke last night! It was hilarious to see the impatience on certain people's faces! LOL! My bar friend Paul went to see Madonna in Vegas on Saturday night, and he HATED the show, HATED Madonna! "I hate that c**t so much right now! The Confessions Tour was so much better and fun, this was a disaster, and her singing and new arrangements were dreadful, she started so late, and even insulted us as an audience! I'm so disappointed", he said. Well thank you Paul! HA! I told him the vibe was much more positive at MY show; the divorce must be getting to Maddie or something and she gave the Vegas crowd a shit show I suppose.

I'm back at work today, and I'm blah! There's this one co-worker in particular whom I've shared quite a few laughs with in years past and been pretty nice to time and time again, but she made it clear to me the other day what a hateful horrible phony Christian bitch she is by having voted for PROP 8. So now my demeanor with her has changed, even though I remain strictly diplomatic with her of course. I wanna sock her in the jaw now when I see her. I know that's a horrible thing to say, but it's how I feel. I've lost a lot of respect for anyone who voted for that damn thing; I see it as a personal assault on gays and lesbians to support such a mean hateful measure, and I don't give a f**k if its due to ignorance/lack of knowledge/religious upbringing, but you still SUCK as a human being if you believe in YES on PROP 8. You suck! Period. And I do wanna know if you voted YES for it. So I can immediately cease relations with you. Yes, I am bitter/resentful at my own mother right now. You better believe it. It's not like I want to get married anytime soon myself, but the whole thing is so anti-gay and hurtful, that YES I DO TAKE IT PERSONALLY.

I'll keep repeating, "I'm grateful to have a job", and try to believe it, as the economy keeps sinking further into the colonoscopic depths of hell.

Thanks for stopping by, for reading, and most of all for commenting! You've all been so awesomely responsive lately!

I TOO AM A VICTIM OF H8.

I am most proud/pleased that gays have risen up to peacefully (for the most part), protest the sorry ass passage of Prop 8 here in California last week! I think it's awesome to see this kind of political/social activism against tyranny and oppression! These horrible anti-gay assholes say they are protecting "marriage", but it's all thinly-disguised as nothing but a YOU GAYS ARE A MISTAKE/GOING TO HELL message. So forward march with the protests my brethren!!!

Motivating me even more now to fight for what's right and hopefully protest soon myself, is my own mother's little diatribe on gay marriage last week. God, could she have bee
n any nastier?! She said something to the effect of:

"Y allí están protestando/queriendo estos el matrimonio gay, y yo no estoy de acuerdo con eso. ¡Como friegan/odiosos! ¿Y para qué quieren casarse? ¿No están contentos con lo que tienen? Dios no va a permitir esto. ¡Le voy a orar a Dios para que esto no pase! No les da vergüenza depravados. ¡Si pasa el matrimonio gay, eso sería apocalíptico!

"And they're out there protesting/wanting gay marriage, and I don't agree with that. You guys are so irritating/hateful! And why do you guys need marriage? Aren'
t you happy with what you have? God will not allow this. I will pray to God that TH
AT never happens. Aren't you ashamed perverts? If gay marriage passes, that would be apocalyptic!"

I tried to put her heaven-awaits-thee hetero world into some real perspective as to how full of crap so many of them are, and it was met with silence. You ever seen this movie? Have ya? THIS IS MY MOTHER; played so brilliantly by the late great Anne Bancroft. MY GOD THIS IS MY MOTHER:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOsH_pbfOV8

I guess that makes me Harvey Fierstein? LOLOLOLOLOL! I'm not exactly that hoarse or feminine, but I know how he feels and what he is saying.

OH! And I knew that voting for Ron Paul was the right thing to do. YOU MUST listen to Ron answer these horrible anti-gay questions (by the asshole host) so neatly, so cleanly, so righteously, so fairly. I love you Ron, and am so proud to have voted for you:

THE QUEEN, THE PRINCESS, AND PRINCE OF POP!

Holy cow! I have never seen a more colorful, more fun concert in my life! Madonna! WOW! Live at Dodger Stadium last night! She started almost at 10p.m. which was quite a wait, but man oh man! The gay presence was in full swing man! My seats were pretty cool, a bit to the side, but I saw plenty with my binoculars, so it was great. And Britney and Justin both came out on stage (at separate times), but it was still a big thrill to see them both! 50,000 came out to see Madge, although the venue did not sell out, but the crowd was unusually responsive, which actually surprised Madonna! LOL! She was ecstatic about Obama's win and even went on to mention the shitty passage of Prop 8 which was a pretty cool stirring moment. I was amazed at how good her body looks in person, and the energy she still has! IMPRESSIVE! I have some pics, but they didn't come out that good.

Check out my slideshow anyway:

THE DAY AFTER. BIG DEAL!

Friends, this nightmarish election is finally over. Thank God that crazy horror show Sarah Palin is going back to her ice sheet. Good riddance!

First of all, I wanna congratulate Barack Obama on his awesome victory. It is indeed a historic moment that a man of color (or half in this case) has ascended to the highest throne. I like you sir. Don't care much for your
wifey, but I like YOU. I will pray that you do your best for our deeply troubled country. How ironic too that Obama's white grandma died like a day before the election right? That is almost too cinematic to even believe.

HOWEVER. Yes. HOWEVER. This is where my cynicism creeps in. I had to vote third party this time around (Ron Paul), because of the insane cult of worship revolving around Obama. He's only a man people! I've said it before, this is not JESUS! I know that eight years of Bush has left us scarred and crap, but this carrying on over
Obamee and footage of people crying and jumping for joy is kind of bizarre! Calm down y'all! Our economic/social troubles are not gone just yet! Lots of work is to be done, and Barack has a lot to prove! I watched his victory speech last night and was just about to lose it when I saw Oprah and Jesse Jackson in the audience. GIMME A FACKIN' BREAK! UGH! YUCK! Jesse Jackson can finally stop his bullshit racism against whitey; you're out of a job you dumbass! LOLOL! Jackson doesn't even like Obama, what a phony! And that beluga whale OPRAH! She irritates me as well! She's as fake as they get/come!

And Proposition 8 has passed! JOY OF JOYS! Heterosexual marriage has been protected! Wow, what a downer man. In essence, all ye
carpetmunchers and fudgepackers are going to hell okay? My holy heterosexual union produces children, unlike yours you filthy fags and dykes, so PEE U to your agenda! Florida and Arizona also passed gay marriage bans. I feel so unwanted right now. My own mother said she supported PROP 8. Their warped belief in Christ blinds them so. That blacks overwhelmingly supported this makes me even angrier! I guess discrimination is okay then?! I chose to suffer a life of rejection and ridicule right? And to top it off, I get to go to a burning purgatory for it!

I'm attending my first-ever Madonna concert live tomorrow night.
YAY! Some real joy at least, in my otherwise pitiful bitter life.

ALL ABOUT ELECTION EVE.

Here we are folks. The moment of truth has arrived. By the way, on a very ridiculous useless fact note, did you know the expression, "moment of truth" comes from the Spanish el momento de la verdad? YEAH! Way ta go! Awesome thing to say ain't it? Such is the greatness and peculiarity of language.

Anyway, going back to what I was going to write about before WAT stu
pidly interrupted me, the MOTHER of all elections is tomorrow my fellow Americans! The world is watching with bated breath as to who will take office as the head CEO of the White House! I will be going to my local polling place, and will justifiably be allowed to leave work early to go and vote! YEEHA! I wonder how long the line will be? Should be a record turnout; we got an old white dude vs. a mixed race hipster and a big proposition here in California as to whether gay rights will stand or crash and burn. A YES vote on Proposition 8 will eliminate gay marriage in our state, and the religious nuts are all over this in true form/fashion. If I even see one more of those horrible intolerant YES on 8 signs I'm going to scream man! My neighbor has a new one up after the righteous desecration of the last one, but cowards they are as they are rarely seen and quickly go in and out of their condo. I will be praying for a miracle that PROP 8 goes down in flames. The victory dance I would perform will be astonishing! LOL!

This movie Blow, is not particularly amazing in any way, but it is the acting I believe which elevates it beyond its simple story of a man who became a drug smuggler. Johnny Depp is terrific as always, and Paul Reubens turns in a fascinating performance as a rich gay pot dealer. What surprised me the most were the two Spaniards in the film, Penélope Cruz and Jordi Mollà. Cruz does a good job in her role as a coke-snorting bitch wife, but it is Jordi as Depp's cellmate/business partner that really left me impressed. He has some of the most beautiful eyes I think I have ever seen, and I had no idea his English was so damn good! Mollà is also great in Segunda Piel with Javier Bardem, which has some raunchy racy scenes that make Brokeback Mountain look like a joke, and he played King Philip II in the last Elizabeth film with Cate Blanchett. Anyway, kudos to Jordi! Blow left me in tears, and I don't know why, but it was ultimately a very moving film based on the true-life story of George Jung. So there.

I leave you with this fairly new Oasis song which is most catchy and very Beatlesque of course:

HALLOWEEN DOS MIL OCHO.

I had a pleasant Halloween. Work, then the local "scaryoke" watering hole!

My first costume for work was Napoleon DynaWAT. HAHA! Yeah, some recognized me instantly, while others just didn't get it, and kept calling me Pedro. LOL! What?! You haven't yet or ever seen the movie? Are you living under a rock?! One of the silliest most ridiculously hilarious movies ever:
-

For my nighttime disguise, I had to try and work with some silly clothes and accessories I already had, so I decided I'd become a new spectacular insane alter ego named : Shecky Greenfield. That's right! For one night only last night, I was a flashy ridiculous circumcised Jewish man with lots of style! Yeah, so I re-used my wig, but STILL! It was a hit! People loved my hair sugarcube! And what an awesome karaoke singer this Shecky was! Here's a pic below:
-
And sadly, another Halloween comes to a close. Till next year sugarcube!

FIRST HALLOWEEN, THEN ELECTION DAY.

Election Day is almost here! OH MY GOD! The moment where we're made to believe that voting really counts/matters! LOLOL!

Obama wil
l take California for sure, even though I'm not voting for him. I get chewed out all the time for even admitting this, but whatever. Sorry, I'm just not all head over heels in love with your "Jesus" and his consistently annoying message of "CHANGE." UGH! Please! He is the lesser of the two evils however, so if you are voting for him, then good. But this blind messiah-like worship of the man is a bit scary! You'd think he can walk on water! Obama has to really prove himself in his first term, for me to even consider voting for him into a second one. I'm just being cautious. I apologize. I just want my conscience to be clear, just in case Obama has secret ties to evil space alien clowns that he's going to let fly in and blow up America. HAHAHAH! I like him, he's charming, and seems capable, but I can't quite put my finger as to why I am not entirely convinced by him. My intuition just keeps telling me that there's something shady and off balance here. I hope he proves me wrong, and really does "CHANGE" this country for the better.

Just a few hours till Halloween, and I still have no costume! DAMNIT! I k
now I'll come up with something cool though. I just know it. Hopefully I'll have pics of myself to post up on Saturday. There's always something to pick out of my closet, but I think I need to go shopping tonight for a wig or a hat of some sort. The madness of waiting till the last minute I know, but that's my style: PROCRASTINATION. UGH! West Hollywood (which so kindly towed my car and gave me a horrific parking ticket not long ago) will have its annual Halloween carnaval, and it should be extremely packed with humanoids. I mean, the fact it'll be on a Friday and the added energy generated by Tuesday's election with Proposition 8 is sure to have crowds there close to one gazillion people. Parking and traffic will be an utter nightmare of epic proportions. DARN! I WANNA GO! But I will most likely stay away, to avoid being crushed in a stampede or something.

How come I had never heard of this horror film until my co-worker mentioned it to me today? Sounds pretty interesting. I know many of you suffer from coulrophobia, and I guess I do a bit, but I still happen to kinda like these movies dealing with these creeps. A most disturbing horror flick I saw recently was the Australian import called Wolf Creek. I warn you, it is very unsettling.

A HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYONE! STAY SAFE TOMORROW NIGHT! DRINK AND SMOKE LIGHTLY!

DEDICATED TO THE LATE GREAT BÉLA LUGOSI.

So much on my mind this Tuesday. I'll keep it as short as possible and save my endless thoughts for future posts. More Halloween-related stuff:

I was thinking about how much I love vampire movies, TV shows, or anything related to the subject. Fascinating stuff really. They hate the light, crosses, holy water, garlic, stakes, and mirrors right? HAHA! And of course, they feed off the li
ving and their blood, and are immortal. Vampires never seem happy though. Kind of a miserable existence really. They're usually portrayed as highly sexual horny beautiful people, but it often masks a grotesque pasty sickly looking face and body. Most vampires are just not very nice. They really hate most of humanity. Can ya blame them? Humans must pay for the sadness of being one of these creatures of the night with lost souls and nothing to look forward to but a bleak immortal life, forever condemned to the darkness. I LOVE IT! Some of my fav modern films and show adaptations: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The Lost Boys, 30 Days of Night, Fright Night, Van Helsing, Interview With the Vampire, etc. By far however, the greatest and perhaps the most visually sumptuous and gorgeous of these stories has been director Francis Ford Coppola's astoundingly beautiful and creepy film, Bram Stoker's Dracula. What a marvelous film this is, with top-notch performances by Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins; even those vapid dumbasses Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves are okay in it. Simply masterful.

Tim Burton is one of those rare geniuses that only come once in a lifetime. I love most of his films, because they're always so bizarre; visually stunning and full of rich oddball eccentric characters which make perfect Halloween costumes, as reflected in films such The Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow, Beetl
ejuice, and many others. Huge credit goes to Danny Elfman as well, for composing some fine music to Burton's films. Don't ya just love those songs sung by Jack Skellington and crew? Good stuff indeed! I'd have to say though, that Ed Wood may quite possibly be Burton's finest film. The cast is superb: Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bill Murray among the many others who do a fine job in this tribute to the late cheesy cross-dressing B-movie director. Sometimes Oscars go to very undeserving actors/performances, but the fact Martin Landau won as Best Supporting Actor for his hilarious and almost tragic portrayal of Béla Lugosi is more than justified. Landau was simply brilliant in the role and was given some amazing lines in that movie.

I could go on and on. Promise me you'll watch these awesome clips:

I DON'T JUST LIKE HALLOWEEN.

One week till Halloween! YAHOOEY! My favorite holiday of all time!

There's tons of stuff I'd like to do this coming week! There's some local haunted houses for free (or a small charge) in my local area that I'd like to see; amateur regular folk who like to decorate their yards every year and let others come by
to see and enjoy! I also may want to go to Knott's Berry Farm, which year in and out puts on the best Halloween-themed mazes in Southern California. It's a bit on the pricey side, but worth going to once in a while. Some of our old vaudeville-type/style movie houses screen some pretty cool old horror flicks for cheap as well. I love this city. As much as people wanna detest Los Angeles, there truly is so much to do in this rich vibrant town. I hope I don't tire myself out in trying to do too much, but I LOVE Halloween! The Christian conservatives say it's a sinful and demonic holiday, but BLAH! I'm into it for the fun! The funny thing is, I don't have any set plans for Halloween night itself, other than to come to work perhaps in a costume and then play it by ear as the sun sets and beyond on October 31st.

Possibly tomorrow Saturday, I can maybe convince one or two buds to come with me to either Santa Monica or San Pedro to experience one of the silliest and most incredibly enduring midnight traditions in American history:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show! What is it about this silly 70s film that has inspired decades of crazy, wacky, and zany people to dress up and act out the film and its musical numbers in movie houses across the coun
try? I don't know man! I just don't know! I think I saw the movie once when it aired on TV years ago, but it's nothing they say compared to the experience of actually going to a midnight showing at a theater and witnessing all the insanity. There she is, a young Susan Sarandon, who is now a fine respected actress, forever immortalized in this campy gender-bending classic! And Tim Curry! WOW! This guy is so underrated! He's really quite brilliant in almost everything I have seen him, but will forever be known as his alter tranny ego Dr. Frank-N-Furter. I tells ya, it would be lots of fun, or at the very least most interesting to see this film on the big screen acted out by the loons! I hope we're not spotted and picked on if we do go; I hear "virgins"/people who have never been to a RHPS screening are teased and possibly hazed! If I'm not mistaken, it's the longest continuously-running motion picture on the big screen in history right? 33 years and counting!

A salute to the New York-born of Lithuanian/Cuban descent horror master movie director
George Romero! Who has done zombie movies better than this guy right?!

A great weekend to ye, and here's to your comments!

PLEASE HOLD MY HAND.

I'm behind on some of your blogs and I apologize. Thanks as always for stopping by, especially to those of you who comment. It means so much to be loved and adored like Obama. LOL!

I don't think of astrology as an exact science, but it is kind of fascinating how much the signs of the Zodiac sometimes do apply and reflect the people born under them. Let's take me for instance: Cancer. Yes, quite possibly the most profoundly emotional of all the signs. And boy do I fit the bill! Being a Cancer has its incredible perks. In my case, I am very empathic, loving, loyal, artistic, creative, and highly sociable at times. I love to go
out and travel, but in moderation. Home is where the heart is for me. I prize these traits and value them highly within myself. The downside? I can be very negative, depressive, overly-sensitive, lazy, procrastinating, moody, and deeply hurtful towards others. Mind you, I won't attack, unless provoked, but sometimes I've caught myself being awfully nasty to someone, when I should've reacted a lot more civilized or disciplined. It's my crab claws man! YIKES! Negative? UGH! Yes, I can fall under this quite easily. I always have to be careful and control my emotions from becoming too morose and overly cynical. I hate injustice, and this can really depress someone like myself, who wishes things were a lot more different in this world. I take people's looks and behavior towards me too personally sometimes, when I need to stop assuming the worst or just let things go. And my God I can be lazy. And boy do I put things off. Tomorrow. Yeah, I'll do it tomorrow. Look, I'm a work-in-progress as we all are and I'm only trying to be the best human being possible. I don't use astrology as a way to live my life, but the more I read on my sign, the more I identify with its traits. Princess Di was a Cancer. She was a nutjob, but a good woman I suppose, despite her emotional torment. Ladies and gentlemen, I may quite possibly be INSANE. AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

O.k. The itch to get up and start traveling has hit me once again. Mind you, it is expensive and quite a ha
ssle nowadays to travel, but it's something I would like to do more often than I currently do. Money may be one of the main issues at times, but it's not the ONLY issue. I'm a bit of a hodophobe. No, I'm not afraid of gays, I wrote HODOphobe. Getting away from my hometown and my comfy home or those of good friends can be quite stressful for me. I used to be able to fly on planes and get into any/all kinds of moving vehicles when I was younger, but in the last ten years the idea of being stuck in that flying tube up in the sky with wings really terrifies me at times. Or being a passenger in a car for too long, especially with a crazy driver. Crowded trains or buses get me edgy too. EEK! Yeah, it's a sick twisted control issue that I discussed with my psychotherapist once, and she said I need to take baby steps to conquer this irrational fear. Just gimme some Xanax honey or some good herb to smoke! LOL! I was even considering hynotherapy sometime soon, to help with this problem. Listen, I wanna see New York City, Miami, Chicago, Canada, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Spain and all of Europe, but it takes cash and most importantly a life free of hodophobia! LMAO! I've come a long way in dealing with my anxieties and am most proud of my progress. The last frontier, of getting out there like I once did to explore the world is next on the horizon. Even with my phobia, I have been to Las Vegas, New Orleans, and San Francisco in the past 8 years, but I'm in the need to get out and see more places, before the economy crashes. HEE!

Wish me luck will ya? I know I will be victorious. Gosh WAT, such a positive outlook today.

It's about time.

WHAT A LOAD OF BULL!

A dramatic weekend for me.

I was helping a friend with a bit of a medical emergency on Saturday afternoon, and while he was getting checked/treated, I casually parked in what I thought was a safe parking spot right next to Jerry's Deli. I was a bit hungry too, and decided to stroll on into the place and have myself a nice, but very expensive meal. What seemed to be a pretty nice evening on my own in beautiful West Hollywood turned into a real shitty deal as I walked back out to my car only to find it getting towed! TOWED! OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My heart sank, and I ran up to the tow truck dude begging, pleading, and trying to understand why my sweet little simple car was getting taken! The two stupid signs (one on the meter) and the other sky high read: NO PARKING TOW-AWAY THURS-MON 6PM-6AM. I stupidly and dyslexically read it as MON-
THURS! ARGH! My beloved came to rescue me and along with my sick bud who'd been discharged, we went to the towing place to pick up the car. A whopping $184 to get it out. I was livid, depressed, and felt totally defeated. To add insult to injury, the City of West Hollywood had also tacked on a $65 ticket to my windshield. Can you believe these crooks? I cried in anger and disgust not just at my own ridiculous mistake, but more at the exorbitant/egregious amount charged! You'd have thought I axe-murdered 5 people or something. I mean, WALL ST. assholes and bankers have gotten better treatment. Look at the AIG dudes who got to go on a retreat, even as the company they managed was folding and coming apart! Oh well, as long as I'm alive and decently well I suppose. BUT STILL! I've read/heard reports that they deliberately make parking signs confusing to dupe people into getting nailed. And BOY DID THEY NAIL ME. And not in a good way!

Much MUCH more happened this past weekend, but fuggedaboutit. Ya know, as much as I
admire and study Spanish culture, it bothers me that they're so into bullfighting. They had a piece on this last night on 60 Minutes. It's a big tradition in Spain as the world knows, but I don't like what they do to the bulls. The matador's costume is really cool and all, as are his really gay moves, but it bugs me that the poor animal is slayed like that in a ring for others to witness and applaud! It's quite barbaric if you ask me. I almost get pleasure in seeing the matador get gored sometimes, as I do when one of those idiot runners gets messed up in Pamplona. I mean, these animals don't really have a chance most of the time, and when they do dig their horns into someone's thigh, it's almost sweet revenge against these inhumane people. I'm not some crazy PETA person or strict vegetarian, but I believe animals deserve better treatment than this. If I were to ever go to Spain, I'd have to refuse to go to a bullfight. I'm sure it's a fascinating spectacle and all, but I just couldn't watch the poor animals die like that. The debate on this though is not settled.

Anyway, my week starteth off. I'm really liking the new song by The Killers. No official video yet, but here's the track anyway. Enjoy:

MARRIAGE, DIVORCE, MONEY, AND POP STARS!

With a title like that, ya just can't go wrong with this blog post! OR CAN YOU?!

There he was, proud of his two political bumper stickers on the freeway the other day as I drove on my way home from work. McCain/Palin said one. The other even more offensive sticker was the YES on PROP 8 with the drawing of the he
tero family and the kids. I tried to look at who the driver was, and I could barely make out a white man wearing shades through the slightly tinted car windows. What a putz! He has a right to his opinion I suppose, but STILL! Even worse was me getting home from karaoke Tuesday night only to find that one of my neighbors has put out a stupid ass lawn sign in support of the anti-gay marriage measure. I ask, I ask, may I just yank that shitty thing off and throw it away, or would I be violating private property laws? Can I just walk up to it with a lighter and set it aflame? I'd like to just kick it, and stomp on it like some angry King Kong-type beast! Humans are so divisive, so hurtful, so beyond logical comprehension sometimes. Why must you display such a horrible thing for others to see? Keep that kind of garbage to yourself huh? Vote how you want to in private, but don't rub it into our faces how much you wanna gloat about yer views in that narrow-minded diarrhea-infested cranium of yours.

UPDATE: I did try to pull out the deeply embedded-into-the-soil sign out late Wednesday night, but ended up merely crumpling the plastic sign quite a bit, only to find it fixed up, and displayed again yesterday morning. I hate to even waste my time on something so trivial really. I'll just let it be. Vandalizing a sign is lowering myself really, and does not change how people will truly vote in the end, but as one lesbian on a bulletin board said, that sign is hurtful and makes one feel like a Jew that has just seen a swastika.

Hey, I'm fed up with having to pay bills and other services so damn often! LOL! I know life is not free, but JAYSUS! From the time we are born till death due us part and even thereafter, it seems like we're constantly in debt! We always owe money to someone/somebody. What a trip! The system is set up for us to constantly slave away at something to make ends meet. Well folks, your precious little capitalistic system is falling apart. We work and work and work just to get a measly paycheck, and it's just not cutting it anymore. Remember when one income was enough back in the day to support an entire household? HA! Try that nowadays! Nearly impossible. The country as a whole is witnessing the truth about the whole thing: we can't afford our lives, are in terrible debt, live beyond our means, and have struggled long enough. T'is why the economy is in shambles. Americans for the most part are good honest hard-working people, but the system is increasingly being set up for us to fail. And failing we are...

Madonna must be utter hell to be married to. The fact it even lasted this long is shocking. The British press is loving every minute of her confirmed divorce, down to the very last detail. Remember, there is no negative press for this woman; she'll milk it for what it's worth, despite the pain.

Congrats to the other crazy pop star who just won't go away! Her new song is a big #1 hit:

Happy weekend everybody!
